This Bad Beat story come to us from Kenny Lee, detailing his recent bad beat experience at the Borgata:

My name is Kenny, and I with a bunch of friends headed down to Atlantic City from NY for a weekday poker junket at the Borgata. I was playing $1-$2 No Limit, and just sat down to a table full of regulars and started bullying people around and busted on guy out. One of the regulars then takes me on, raising pre-flop, $20.
I peek at my hole cards, see Yao-Ming and T-mac staring back at me, "Pocket Rockets". I call. Flop Comes down A-Q-6. He raises another $50. I hesitate a bit, then call. Turn is a 5. He raises another $50. I pause, fidget, stare him down then announce im all in for another $200. He calls in a split sec and throws down pocket queens, for trip queens. I turn over my bullets for trip aces and he stands up and screams OMG. Everyone in the room turns and stares. im smiling until I see the last queen float up on the river, for quad queens… goes to show you, skill cant beat luck...

This Bad Beat story come from Shan of Southern California...

My name is Shan. I'm 19 and I live in southern California. I was playing at my local casino, Casino Morongo, at the 2-5 no-limit table. Here is the hand. I was in last position and pick up Ace King of Diamonds, the person in 2nd person raises to 50 dollars I just call. Heads up me and him with me in position. The flop comes out 2, 6, 9 of Diamonds. He immediately goes all-in for about 250 dollars of course I call naturally in a split second. He turns over pocket 10's with the 10 of Diamonds he taps the table saying good hand. The turn comes a 10 giving him trips and the river is a 6 giving him a full house. my nut flush turns into a bad beat. that's poker I guess...

How to avoid these BAD BEATS?

As a poker-player you know, that there is only one chance: Fold in time.
But are there other chances to avoid bad beats?
Ok, have a look to the "watchdogs" of gaming and gambling industry. They will show you in form of Black Listingsthe cheating Casinos and unserious Poker Sites with extremly late or, as badest beat, with no payout, .
All other bad beat is a great portion of missing luck. And: You never play alone, see how the other players act, make your decissions not under pressure, and most of all: Play only with money you can lose.
Have fun!
