I really really hate bad beats.

The truth be known I don't particularly care for bad beat stories but for some reason I find myself drawn to them. Recently read one related by TJ in his book that even I must admit was definitely a bad beat.

AT the Bike in LA, TJ was playing in a No Limit game with Al Krux. Al wasn't doing so well and pushed all-in with his stake. A couple of seats after him, a player inadvertantly exposed his cards to his neighbor then folded. When the betting got around to TJ, he had Pocket Tens. Pretty sure he was beat by Al, he still raised in an effort to win the extra money in the pot. The dealer not paying attention mucked the deck. The floor was called and the decision was to reshuffle the cards and continue the hand. The dealer quickly shuffled and layed out the board. The flop came K,T,4. Al had pocket Kings and TJ had the pocket Tens. On the turn the fourth ten appeared and Al was busted. Lower trips capping off a higher set overcomes tremendous odds by itself but as the cards were played, it was determined that the player who had inadvertantly revealed his cards had also had pocket tens. So the only way that Al could have lost the hand was, for the dealer to make a mistake and then put the perfect cards on board. Sometimes it just not your night.

May all your bad beats be those you give to someone else.
